I enjoy painting not only domestic animals with their quirky, individual personalities but am also fascinated by animals found round the world. The gentle elephants with their long memories and gangly giraffes with their very long necks. I love capturing the light in their eyes that seems to bring them to life so instantly.
Frogs have always appealed to me and never cease to astound with their resilience and determination to survive and thrive. I have experienced times of drought when grass is nowhere to be seen, however the first shower of rain brings those frisky frogs out in moments. It’s no wonder they symbolise renewal and fertility!
Country beasts have their own beauty too. The languid eyes of cows, magnificent horses, content sheep, pretty piggies and of course goofy goats prancing and playing with their ravenous appetites for eating whatever is at hand.
